There are moments during a shoot when you have to trust your instincts. Shooting into the sun can be a gamble, but sometimes it creates magic you just cannot get any other way.

During a recent game with the Impact GFC girls soccer team in Loveland, Ohio, I decided to take that risk. The sun was setting perfectly behind the field, and the light pouring in gave every photo a warm, powerful energy. Shooting straight into it brought out some incredible silhouettes, flares, and golden tones that made the action feel even more alive.

I have had the chance to work with Impact GFC a few times, and it is always a highlight of my week. These girls bring everything to the field, and it shows in every frame. This time, though, the light took it to a whole new level. We captured everything from intense plays to candid sideline moments, all wrapped in that unforgettable golden glow.

Photography is about more than just documenting the moment. Sometimes it is about chasing the light and trusting that the risk will be worth it. This session was one of those times.
